All-Stars 2025

Welcome to the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Team 2025, the official state basketball all-stars.

 

The All-Stars are divided into 4 teams; 2 girls teams & 2 boys teams, who will compete against each other in the biggest & most important game in the state, The Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

Our All-Star Head Coaches are:

Rod Taylor (Pearl), Stan Jones (Bay Springs), Alphaka Moore (Oak Grove), & Jennie Vance (Quitman). 

 

Congratulations to the #1 Boys Pick, Montavis Hobbs & The #1 Girls Pick, Brookylnn Adams, of the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft 2025 hosted by WNBA Superstar Ruthie Bolton.  

 

The Mississippi Basketball All-Stars is Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Tougaloo College. 

The Girls Basketball Game is at 5pm. The Boys Basketball Game is at 7pm.

Brooklynn Adams, a 3 star athlete from North Forrest High School in Hattiesburg, MS was selected as the girls #1 Overall Pick in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

Rod Taylor

Rod Taylor

Head Coach

Coach Taylor, currently the Head Coach at Pearl High School, is a very dexterous coach & skilled athlete. Taylor was a starting point guard at Jackson State University, the 2x SWAC Defensive Player of the Year as well as a 2x National Champion. He has coached at multiple high schools including Richland, Leake County, & Pelahatchie in which he won District Championships and multiple appearances at the state championship. He has led the Pearl basketball team to achieve a remarkable 23-8 record and secure a District
Championship, a feat that has only been accomplished twice
before-in 2012 and in 1991, when Coach Taylor was
a player himself.

Montavis Hobbs

Montavious Hobbs

Montavis Hobbs, a 3 star athlete from Mendenhall High School in Mendenhall, MS was selected as the #1 Overall Pick in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'7 175 lbs wing guard won "Offensive Player of the Year." Montavis is senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Jalean Tweedy

Jalean Tweedy, a 3 star athlete from Madison Shannon Palmer High School in Marks, MS was selected as the #3 Overall Pick in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'3 180 lbs shooting guard is the 2nd highest point scorer in Mississippi & won "District MVP." Jalean is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Jaxton Moore, a 3 star athlete from Bay Springs High School in Bay Springs, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'10 130 lbs combo guard won the 2025 2a State Championship. Jaxton is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Jaylen James, a 3 star athlete from Callaway High School in Jackson, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'5 205 lbs power forward is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Columbia, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'11 170 lbs  point guard is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Jamiyon Gray, a 3 star athlete from Mize Attendance Center in Mize, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'0 180 lbs athlete is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Jay'Lyn Blakney, a 3 star athlete from Wayne Academy  in Waynesboro, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'3 180 lbs shooting guard was selected on the "All District Team". Jay'Lyn is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

The 6'7 175 lbs power forward is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

The 5'10 130 lbs point guard won "Farm Bureau Player of the Week" & "Defensive Player of the Year."  TaShaun is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Joseph Nichols, a 3 star athlete from Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'7 127 lbs point guard is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Jamarcus McCullum

Jamarcus McCullum, a 3 star athlete from Raleigh High School in Raleigh, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'9 203 lbs point guard has won multiple MVPs. Jamarcus is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Stan Jones

Head Coach

Coach Jones, currently  the Head Coach of the Bay Springs High School,  is a very dynamic coach. A former starting power forward at Jones Junior College, Coach Jones brings a
strong playing background and nearly a decade of coaching experience to his role.

He began his coaching career as an assistant boys basketball coach at Laurel High School,
where he served from 2015 to 2023. In 2024, he accepted his first head coaching position at
Bay Springs High School.
In his debut season (2024–2025), Coach Jones led the Bay Springs Bulldogs to an outstanding 28-5 record, captured the 2A Region 5 District Championship
and on the biggest of stages, won the 2025 2A State Championship.

Joe Horne

Jozyruen "Joe" Horne, a 3 star athlete from Meridian High School in Meridian, MS was selected as the #2 Overall Pick in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'5 178 lbs power forward won the 7A Basketball State Championship and is ranked in the Top 25 Athletes in the state. Joe is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Austin Richards

Austin Richards, a 3 star athlete from Jackson Academy in Jackson, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'7 175 lbs wing guard is ranked in the Top 5 Athletes in the state. Austin is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Devonta Thompson

Devonta Thompson

Devonta Thompson, a 3 star athlete from Bogue Chitto School in Bogue Chitto, MS was selected as the 6th overall pick in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'10 150 lbs shooting guard is ranked in the Top 20 Highest Point Scorer in the state & scored  2,000+ career points. Devonta is a 2x Area MVP, 3x "District MVP," & "Mr. 2A Basketball." Devonta is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Kamarris Rash

Kamarrius Rash

Kamarrius Rash, a 3 star athlete from Clarksdale High School in Clarksdale, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'1 186 lbs wing guard is the 6th highest point scorer in Mississippi. Kararrius is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Javeion Perkins, a 3 star athlete from Vicksburg High School in Vicksburg, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'4 158 lbs shooting guard won MVP & "Most Improve Player of the Year." Javeion is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Emoni Journey, a 3 star athlete from Leflore County High School in Itta Bena, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'1 160 lbs wing guard is ranked in the Top 30 Highest Point Scorers in Mississippi & was selected for the 2024-25 Boys All-Commonwealth Basketball First Team, Emoni is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Joland Powell, a 3 star athlete from

Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'11 150 lbs point guard has won multiple MVPs. Joland is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Marcus parker

Marcus "MJ" Parker, a 3 star athlete from Puckett Attendance Center in Puckett, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'0 147 lbs point guard is ranked as the 9th highest point scorer in the state & won "Offensive Player of the Year." Marcus is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Trent Magee, a 3 star athlete from Mendenhall High School in Mendenhall, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'5 190 lbs power forward won the "Most Hustle Award". Trent is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Jennie Vance

Head Coach

Coach Vance, currently the Head Coach at Quitman High School, is a talented coach who has over 25 years of coaching experience at all levels. She's worked multiple seasons for the WNBA Houston Comets in which the team won the championship. She's coached at the University of Houston, Texas A&M, and Henderson State University. She's coached numerous basketball & softball all-star games. At Quitman High School,  she's won 4 district titles in 7 years and appeared at the Final Four twice. Coach Vance has also had an athlete to be selected as a North vs South all-star 5 years in a row.

Alphaka Moore

Head Coach

Coach Moore, currently the Head Coach at Oak Grove High School, is a very gifted coach who has been a coach & educator for over a decade. She has won two 5A state championship titles, two 5A south state championships,
2024 Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game head coach, 2022 Mississippi Athletic
Administrator of the Year nominee,2021 MSU Top 25 Alumni “Reveille 25 Alumni”, 2017 MAC North-South
All-Star game head coach, 2016 Mississippi Association of Coaches Coach of the Year, multiple district
championships, and multiple state tournament appearances.

Lashayla Fortenberry

Lashayla Fortenberry, a 3 star athlete from Jefferson Davis County High School in Bassfield, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'7 155 lbs shooting guard was a "McDonalds All American Nominee," "Best Offensive Player," & "East Marion Holiday Classic MVP" among other awards. Lashayla is a senior graduating in the Class of 2025.

Sumrall High School in Sumrall, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'0 260 lbs center won the "Nike Skills Camp" MVP. Eva is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Aniriah Galloway, a 3 star athlete from Poplarville High School in Poplarville, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'0 98 lbs point guard won "Offensive Player of the Year" & "The Most Improved Player" Award. Anirah is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Jaidence Spencer, a 3 star athlete from Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 6'1 165 lbs power forward was the top rebounder. Jaidence is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.

Zaria Bender, a 3 star athlete from Bay Springs High School in Bay Springs, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'5 174 lbs athlete won "The Most Improved Player" Award. Zaria is a sophomore graduating in the Class of 2027.

Dalayzia Mayes, a 3 star athlete from St. Martin High School in Ocean Springs, MS was selected in the 2025 Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft to be an official state all-star and play in the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Game.

The 5'8 140lbs athlete won MVP. Dalayzia is a junior graduating in the Class of 2026.
