CLARKSDALE, Miss (MAP News)- What was slated to be the biggest high school event of the summer is now cancelled due to extreme heat warnings and an extremely high heat index reaching well over 110 degrees.

The Summer All-Star Finale at Coahoma Community College will no longer take place as MAP officials met with Coahoma Community College officials and mutually agreed not to move forward with the event that anticipated over 100 students athletes from across Mississippi.

Coahoma Community College has already cancelled all of its outside activities at its campus because of extreme heat.

MAP officials has stated that event will not be rescheduled as it would be impossible to house student on the college campus during the school year with college kids staying in the dorms or during the time when high school students would typically be in school.

The Mississippi Association of Players announced it would move forward with it's fall schedule of events which include fall all-stars, camps, college visits, and more.
