HATTIESBURG, Miss (MAP News) The student athlete membership fee has increased from $100 a year to $250 a year for all new members.

The new membership fee will have no effect on existing members as current membership plans will not increase. Only new membership plans will be $250 effective immediately.

The new increase is a part of the overall financial structure of MAP, ensuring its long term success and stability over the next few decades.

The membership fee will increase again for all new members who signup on or after Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from $250 to $500 a year.

The final membership increase will be effective Thursday, January 1, 2026. All new student memberships fees will be $125 a month.

All current student membership plans will be honored as there will be no increase to current plans. However, once a current plan expires, it cannot be renewed. Instead, student athletes must switch over to the new $125 a month student membership plan.

The goal of the new student membership plans are to provide a modern framework that will increase students opportunities to better themselves as well as increase student athletes participation throughout the year.
