The Mississippi Association of Players has officially set the date to the Mississippi Basketball All-Star Draft for Saturday, March 29, 2025. The All-Star draft will take place in beautiful downtown Hattiesburg, MS at the VFW Building. The draft starts at 7pm.
The official Mississippi Basketball All-Stars are chosen from the All-Star draft. Only the top 200 best basketball athletes from across Mississippi will get an invite to attend the draft.
Only 90 athletes will be selected on draft night to be an official Mississippi Basketball All-Star and play in the official state All-Star Basketball Game.

Who Can Be Entered Into The Draft?
Any student that attends any school in Mississippi, including private, public, and charter schools are eligible to be a state all-star. Student athletes must be at least in the 9th grade. So yes finally, 9th - 12th grade students are now eligible to be a state all-star.
This opens up the door for literally the very best student athletes in Mississippi to represent Mississippi as a state all-star regardless of school, age, or grade.
Student athletes can sign up to be a member of Mississippi Association of Players by clicking here.
So a student from Jackson Prep or Hartfield Academy can now play on the same All-Star team as a student from Biloxi High School. This allows the very best talent from across the state to come together to showcase Mississippi's true talent.
How Are All-Stars Selected?
All-Stars are selected through a 3-step process. This process not only gives every student athlete a fair opportunity to be selected but gives the public a chance to have their voices heard.
Step 1: The Vote | Anyone can vote for any student athlete as many times as he/she likes during the voting period. This is a great way to get the community, schools, and families involved by supporting an athlete or multiple athletes. |
Step 2: The Draft | At the end of the voting period, the results are presented to the Board of the association for verification. Then, the top 200 athletes with the most votes will be invited to attend the All-Star Draft on Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Hattiesburg, MS. |
Step 3: The Selection | Only 90 student athletes will be selected as a state all-star, the highest honor a student athlete can receive.
Students must be present at the draft to be selected seeing as since this is the highest honor a student athlete can receive.
Literally no one knows who will be a state all-star as everyone will be selected during the All-Star Draft.

Who Selects the State Basketball All-Stars?
The student athletes are selected by the head coach of each all-star team during the actual All-Star draft. Each coach will take turns turning in their pick to the Mississippi Association of Players and their pick will be announced from the podium.
Coaches are only allowed to pick players from the All-Star Draft List. This allows all players the same level of opportunity to be selected as a state all-star.
Who Selects the All-Star Coaches?
Coaches are chosen almost the same way student athletes are chosen. The top 20 coaches who receive the most votes will be invited to the All-Star Draft. The top 6 coaches with the most votes will be selected as state All-Star Head Coaches.
After the first 6 head coaches are selected, the coaches will then choose their assistant head coaches from the All-Star Coaches List.
Who Can Attend and What To Wear?
Dress to impress! Being selected as a state all-star is the highest honor a student athlete can achieve as a student in Mississippi, so formal attire is recommended. No jeans are allowed!
The 200 student athletes and the 20 coaches are encouraged to invite their families and friends. Guests of student athletes and coaches must purchase a $50 ticket to attend. Seating is limited so tickets will be served on a first come first served basis.
The event will feature a red-carpet, a evening dinner, and entertainment for guests.
